Anticipation in the TreesA Poem by Ciara Di SalleOn account of a review that I found inspiring, I have tried a new thing! It's a sonnet! Woop! The trees stretch high above my fragile frame, And softened soil feels cool upon my knees. The branches vary, yet it’s all the same, Unchanging constant company, the trees. They whisper songs of sunsets gone and dead, They dance with wind, their bows sweep through the air. I struggle to remember what they said, But melody’s enough for all I care. I’ll take you there some day once we have met, And pray you listen well enough to hear- The songs the trees perform, you won’t forget, They will dance in your mind forever, dear. And when you know me all I’ll ask of you, Is keep me in your mind forever too. Ciara Di Salle - 2013 © 2013 Ciara Di SalleAuthor's Note
