The Village Children

The Village Children

A Poem by Martina
"

The parents are punished for their sins against their children.

"

There was silence with the village children,

They did not whisper nor did they make a sound.

As they stood in the centre of the little town,

There lay the bodies of their deceased parents

And it was like an Angel had come down and wreaked

Divine Retribution

On the the parents of this accursed village.

For in fact, they were all sinners,

and the children their victims,

So the Angel had condemned them, to the farthest depths of Hell.

Martina
Hi, another one I thought of on the spot. Um please review it, I find that in some places, it seems slightly....awkward, like the sentence structuring? Hmm I'm unsure.

I don't really see anything wrong with it. It's a great piece!
