My Pet Rock

My Pet Rock

A Poem by Arthur Rider
"

poem about my favorite pet

"

People may have pets that bark or purr or even chirp.
My pet rock is too polite to even give a burp.

While folks look for lost pets that may wander away
I don’t have to wonder, cuz my pet rock will stay.

While much money is spent to care for a dog or a cat,
My pet saves me enough money to buy me a hat.

My pet doesn’t leave a mess for me to clean up after.
I watch other owners fuss and I start my laughter.

My pet rock, I know where you are.
You won’t run, you won’t chase a car.

So you can keep your fancy pet.

I know I have the best one yet!
