I'm Sorry

I'm Sorry

A Chapter by Luna

I'm sorry,
I'm sorry,
The words repeatedly escape my lips,
Trying to convince you to stop hurting me,
Let go of my wrists that have now lost feeling.

I'm sorry,
I'm sorry,
The same words escape my lips many years later,
The lasting effects of your abuse scarring me,
Causing me to apologize for small things,
When people aren't mad.

I'm sorry,
I'm sorry,
Lecture after lecture,
People try to fix me,
Change the lasting effect though they fail.
No matter what I always will apologize,
Afraid that they will grab my wrists,
Bruise my skin,
Hurt me for small things.
I'm sorry.

Yes, this is based on truth. It's an issue I know I have and I have tried to stop it. I guess some impressions and habits developed in negative circumstances just last.

Sad, but great write!

It is a life-altering piece that is easily embedded into our lives, causing us to watch over our shoulder, protectively and instinctively remembering the past. Thank you for sharing with us.

Sometime we must smile and agree. Each of us have our journey we want to do. Must overcome wall of doubters and accomplish our dreams. A powerful poem. I could feel being caged up and wanting to run. A excellent poem.
