Rejection

Just a random poem. And yes, this has happened to me.

I tell you how I feel,
You scowl,
Looking at me
Like I'm some impurity.
I turn away,
Tears running down my cheeks,
Cheeks that are red with embarrassment.

You tell me how you feel,
And I remember what you did,
How you turned me down,
And I do the same.
You turn away
And so do I,
Meekly smiling to myself
Because I didn't give you the sympathy
That you never gave me.
Now you know how I felt
When you rejected me.
