Chapter 14

Chapter 14

A Chapter by Luna
"

Just a heads up, we are back to Maria here. She’s the one starting the talking and her side of the story. And you’re in luck if you don’t like the switching voice. This chapter is only her. Hope you enjoy!

"

When I wake up, I’m laying on Travis’ chest and his shirt is wet where my head was. He is still fast asleep, looking like the handsome angel he is. I try to sit up but everything goes black, causing me to lay my head back down on his chest. The memories from the night before begin to flood back, both the good and bad. I close my eyes and my stomach begins to growl.

“Travis, it’s time to wake up sleepy head.” His eyes open and a smile erupts onto his face. “I’m starving. I hope he will let me eat. I mean, our little episode yesterday might have done it for him.”

“Good morning, love. I’m hungry, too, but first I need to freshen up. You know, shave and change my shirt and such. Then we can go and see what Pratt has cooked up for us.”

“Alright.” I say as I close my eyes, thinking that he wouldn’t want me to see him shirtless.

“You can keep them open. I don’t mind.” Though his cheeks are pink, he doesn’t seem very embarrassed.

“I-I just thought you would like some privacy is all.” I stutter out and Travis chuckles at me, putting me on the defense. “Hey, I stutter and blush less than you do!” I joke.

“Maria, how do I look?” He spins around, a small dot of blood on his cheek. I motion for him to come near and wipe it away.

“You look beautiful!” I exclaim jokingly.

            “And so do you.”

            “Aw, how sweet. Flirt much?”

“Yes.” He says as he pulls his shirt off and sits down next to me on the bed, showing off his amazing stomach and ribs. I reach out and touch them, drawing in a breath of amazement. “What is it, love? Am I handsome or what?”

            “Mmmm.” I sigh in content.

“I guess that is a yes. Just imagine it in bed!” he lets out a laugh when I give him a soft smack on his chest.

            “That’s not funny. I’m a lady!” I say, smirking.

“Yah, a lady. If I had half a mind I would bed you right now but the captain wouldn’t be too happy, now would he? Oh, wait. He thinks I already have. Won’t hurt if I do it again.” He rolls on top of me and I let out a girlish giggle.

“Alright, get off. This isn’t funny.” He plants a kiss on my head and then rolls off of me, standing up and pulling a shirt on. Both of us are grinning from ear to ear.

“Let’s see if you can walk. Up you go.” He says as he takes my hands and pulls me to my feet. A black cloud washes over my eyes and I grab onto a chair, blinking fast to try to clear it away.  Travis walks a few steps away so that he is right in front of the door. “Come on. I won’t let you fall. Don’t worry.” He says as I take my hand off the chair and begin to walk very slowly and wobbly across the floor. Suddenly, I am falling to the ground and Travis’ arms are around me, catching me, helping stand back up. I give him a kiss on the cheek after my hand is firmly on the chair. He walks towards the door again and I begin to walk, this time faster. I walk straight to him, too his waiting arms where I give him a big hug.

“I did it!” I squeal excitedly, planting a kiss on his lips. “Thank you!”

“Congratulations! You have your sea legs!” He exclaims as he wraps his arms around me tighter, pulling me into a big bear hug.

“I’m hungry.” I look straight into his grinning eyes, repeating what I said earlier.

“Alright. Let’s go eat.” He grins down at me as he opens the door. He moves out to the side so I can pass by him. When I get completely into the main room, I am greeted by six pairs of eyes, all of them scowling at Travis and I.
