Chapter 13

Chapter 13

A Chapter by Luna

“Maria! I didn’t think… Midshipman Westing, what are you doing here? You were not asked to come to this dinner. Leave us!” the captain looks perturb, obviously already heard some of the rumors that have gone around the ship.

“I cannot leave her for she is unable to walk. She was seasick and, since you did not allow her to eat, she is suffering from dizziness.” A wicked smile forms on his lips. “So I had to dress her and she sleeps in my room so I can take care of her. You see, me and her share a bond. A bond closer than you will ever know.” He pinches my side and I let out a girlish giggle, making the captain so angry that it looks like he will kill both of us.

“How dare you! She is mine! I will take care of her now, so hand her over!” he roars, the sound loud enough to wake up hell.

“No, you will not. I will kill you if you so much as put a finger on me with your disgusting hands. I have come here for dinner and Travie will stay. We are too close to separate.” Travis leans down and plants an intense kiss on my forehead, making the captain even more furious.

“To hell with this dinner! Get the hell out of here, you disgusting w***e! Out! Damn you, w***e! Damn you, Travis Westing, for stealing my woman! Damn you, b*****d!” The captain roars out in pure hatred.

“Travis, we need to get out of here before he tries to kill me.” I say loud enough for Travis to hear. He reacts instantly, running across the deck, down the stairs, and into his room in the berth. He sets me down and then collapses on the bed next to me.

“Travis, Travis! Please wake up! Please!” Maria is saying from what sounds like a distance but I’m confused to why she is saying that.

“Maria, what happened?” I ask her, confused to why I am lying in bed next to her. My mind begins to wander to why we both might be here.

“You collapsed on the bed after you put me down. We were at the…dinner… that the captain threw us. Remember?” she says, concern written on her face and her normal sparkle that lives in her eyes gone. I gather her to my chest and hold her while she sobs. Ay arms wrap around her and my lips meet her forehead as I calmingly rub her back. Soon, everything goes quiet and her breathing calms. She falls asleep with her head on my chest. I’m not too far behind her.

Author's Note

Luna
This is where the chapters start to get confusing for some people because it switches from a single person telling the story to two people. The rest of the book does this on and off so if it gets confusing, let me know. I’m trying to figure out a way to fix it but it’s kinda difficult because I want to try to get Travis’ side of the story and point-of-view too. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love if you gave me your ideas. Other than that, all I can do is tell you to watch for the blue line. Thanks and I hope you enjoy!

This reminds me of the Twilight series, when we read Jacob's point of view, was that in the fourth book, I can't remember.
