Introduction

                “What is going on? Where am I?” I say groggily, still half asleep. I feel a strong hand on my back, rubbing up and down melodically. My head lies on a think, muscled shoulder. “Who is this I am laying on? Who are you?” I keep my eyes shut, even while speaking.

                “Shush, my love. Everything is all right. We are almost to our destination. Go back to sleep.” The man’s voice said. The voice is deep and melodic, making me want to listen to it all the more. “I will protect you. I promise. That is what I am here for.”

                “Who are you? Where are we going?” I know I am speaking but my voice sounds far away. My mind is in the land that is between sleep and awareness.

                “Shush and don’t worry, my sweet angel. Everything will be answered in the morning. Sleep now.” The deep voice says. He continues to rub my back melodically and I fall asleep, the sound of horse hooves on the cobbles my lullaby.

I'm not the type of person who enjoys reading long introductions that just seem to drag on and on so I tried to keep it short. Hope you enjoy!
