Memories

Memories

A Poem by Oktobre M Axtell
"

Memories in two types of poems.

"
Memories no longer to be found.
Memories carved, scarred forever.
Memories better just left well alone.
Memories of emotions not quite forgotten.
Memories of great times not to be forgotten.
Memories of cruel forces proved unconquerable.
Memories held close inside for fear of being lost.
Memories of dreams undeciphered and dreams untold.
Memories of nameless songs and often faceless people.
Memories of friends gone past and friends that did not last.
Memories of peculiar faces and unknown but familiar places.
Memories that stay awake, but more often ones that quietly sleep.
Memories of what could have been and what would never become.
Memories, some kind, others sad and angry, influencing every thought.
Memories of actions that took place and words said that could never be erased.
Memories for days, memories for weeks, whatever happens, it is those I can keep.

I lay down in grass,
Pondering my memories.
Soundly sweet they are.

Sun shining brightly,
I smile at these warm rays,
Hoping the sun stays.

Day and night I sleep,
caught in neverending dreams.
Memories in each.

Wind whispers softly,
Filling my head with stories
Giving me purpose.

I dance to music,
in my head, always playing.
Music is my friend.
