I Found My WolfA Poem by KAJThis is just a little reminder of inner strength
A guest arrived late last night
He came knocking at my door I must say it startled me Since the clock read half past four He looked not the homely type Dressed in black from tip to toe Undaunted and distinguished His clear blue eyes seemed to glow I did not deny entry Nor did I quite affirm As he crossed my threshold A light in my heart did burn His demeanor resembled A wolf instead of a man His gate was smooth and steady With a watchful eye that scanned No single word was spoken As he roamed about my home Like a soldier to protect And to confirm I was alone Each step he searched with purpose In every room of mine I accepted an aching chill Coursing up and down my spine The raging air did rise Ghostly silent was the sound He calmly stood before me And I firmly held my ground Those wolfish eyes subsided Then he gently raised his arm A soft touch to my shoulder With a smile that meant no harm This strange new friend sauntered out As swiftly as he came in What remained in me a strength That revived the wolf within
