This Girl

My daughter is an inspiration for many of my poems, paintings, and ideas. This one is not only for her, but all the girls :)

Her eyes entice rainbows into granting her dreams,

Convincing the light she can protect every beam.

Her smile races time across the sky without end,

Playful and alive around each corner and bend.

Her spirit warms the air like the heat from the sun,

And embraces her soul that burns to be the one.

Her heart beats in rhythm with elegance and grace,

Conducting symphonies at invincible pace.

Her mind excites life with an enlightening ride,

Striving for balance above confidence and pride.

Her will has the courage to shine bright in this world,

Dare not underestimate the strength of this girl.

Another impressive piece from you. I can't explain why, but the "striving for balance above confidence and pride" phrase resonated with me, even after the third read.

You convey so much hope, strength and optimism in this poem. And, it's clear the words come from wisdom, not a book or another poem. An excellent inspirational poem for your daughter and all others who might read it.
