The Flea

The Flea

A Story by KAJ
"

A children's story about a flea wearing pink sneakers and a dog named Spot.

"
Today a tiny flea sat next to me.
It was oh so small I could barely see.
Then I heard a buzz and a squeaky peep.
He stretched out his arms and fell right to sleep.
I quietly bent down to take a look.
This bug was small like an eye of a hook.
I couldn't be sure but I really think.
This flea wore sneakers and they were bright pink.
Then the flea woke up, yawned, and stretched once more.
He waved to me and jumper down to the floor.
The flea spun around and started to trot.
Because this flea saw my little dog Spot.
I tried to warn him and yelled "Spot watch out!"
But the flea was quick and hopped on his snout.
The flea hopped again and I truly fear.
That he snuggled in behind Spot's left ear.
Spot looked surprised and shook from tail to head.
He needed to scratch NOW with his back leg.
My little dog itched, scratched, and itched some more.
He seemed confused and ran straight out the door.
I went to the kitchen and grabbed shampoo.
I wanted to help, what else could I do?
I took the hose and turned the water on.
"Spot, please hold still, and this flea will be gone!"
Spot was all wet and covered with bubbles.
I think he knew that I meant no trouble.
I looked at the flea and he looked at me.
He jumped off Spot and hid behind a tree.
When I dried Spot off he didn't look ill.
No itching, no scratching, he just stood still.
Spot was so happy he jumped in the air.
He wanted to play and race everywhere.
