She Must FlyA Poem by KAJI wrote this when my daughter was about 12 and I knew someday she will have to leave and live her own life.SHE MUST FLY Yesterday, She ran to me with arms open wide. She held my hand and stood by my side. We walked and talked and giggled a lot. I watched her sleep and dream a lot. We wished upon a star a lot. When our yesterday was gone I sighed. Today, She waves to me and passes by. Smiling with a sparkle in her eye. She sings and dances and laughs a lot. She plays and plans and learns a lot. She thinks about the world a lot. My todays are in short supply. Tomorrow, She will call me up just to say hi. She is doing well, then says goodbye. She will visit new places a lot. She will meet friendly faces a lot. She will follow many dreams a lot. Her tomorrow will come and she must fly. © 2017 KAJAuthor's Note
