You and I

You and I

A Poem by Amila Jay

I mingle on the hours unturned

Burning away the time

That consumed fond memories

Of you and I

Passing notes of whispers in our ears

I laughed and you smiled

Fell in love with our eyes

But then we kissed goodbye

To the summer nights

We tried to spend with each other

That didn’t last long enough

And ended up in tears

Now you and I no longer see each other

For I guess this was our destiny

But I’ll pray and hope

That someday you and I

Will meet above the heavens

A very nice poem. Some people in a life can't be forgotten. There touch and kindness is forever tattoos on our brain. I enjoyed the flow and the story in this poem. A excellent poem.
