Last Breath

Last Breath

A Poem by Amila Jay
"

death of a lover

"

I was held at the will of your last embrace
A
s I grasped on to the memory of your eyes
Looking back at mine; Asking me why
Though you didn't utter a single goodbye
You were close to tears and my heart ached in fear
So I clasped your hands and kissed it with all my might
To take this rose; our symbol of love

And burn it the minute I die

A good write overall. Great reminecance. You have captured the moment very well in this and displayed it for who ever reads this poem. In the few short lines of this poem you have expressed deep emotions of a parting of young love and death. A sentimental rose was a very beautifully dramatic addition to the ending that brings this poem full circle. Line to line it has a harmony and tugs on your hearts strings and for anyone who has ever loved and lost, it is something that is relateable! Great read.

This is brilliant, loving and yet dark. Touching, and heartfelt. Nicely done, Amila.
