Walking Away

Walking Away

A Poem by Amila Jay

I feel an impulse through my veins

As I sit through the shadows of time

Echoing in-between the hollow walls

With every beat of my heart

Surrendered to the memories

That I will sooner have to leave

As these words pour as tears through my eyes

I hate to have to say goodbye

As I walk away wondering if ever we’ll meet again

For our souls have fallen apart

Neither you nor I

Will no longer be our

Then would it be a choice of fate

Our souls will be locked inside an invisible cage

But neither of us will find the key

To be ours and be free

As I walk away wondering if ever we’ll meet again

This poem really touched my heart. Story of my (and everyone's) life, we all meet people and one day, we have to leave. And it's not just about relationships, but in every situation that life brings our way, departure is always painful. I can relate to this so much. Your words, I can make out, came from the heart, and your poem has been written beautifully. Keep it up!

You will reunite with love, if love it truly is . Love concures all ! no matter what happens in the life time of the entwined angels. Don't think on it just act how your heart dictates. You will go far whatever your heart dicides

and life goes on quietly without saying a word and people comes and goes without meaning to but in the end nothing matters, only thing that matters in the end is just you and only yourself. Your poem is expressing a phase of life, a phase which sometimes occurs more then once in life but hurts just once, now that depends on one's individual life, when and where and 'cause of whom. . :) I appreciate your poem, nice selection of words and emotions. Keep it up.

Its hard to leave something that has felt so good for such a period time, whether lover or friend. Emotional piece. Nicely done.

I had the bad logic of thinking when I was young. When I left people people in my travel I would never see them again. Today I wished I kept in contact with the many good people I have known. Always sadness in separation. Today is nice. E-mail and phones allow us to stay in touch. A powerful poem. Made me think. Goal of the writer. Thank you for the excellent poetry.
