When The Words Have Left

When The Words Have Left

A Poem by Armistead Lindsey
"

"

When the words have left,

The room falls silent,

Tension hangs in the air,

Going stale in the still mouths,

Leaving that bitter taste,

Of not knowing what to say,

Of saying too little.

Well done for picking an uncomfortable and embarrassing facet of life and describing that excruciating situation that most of us have experienced. As you have suggested it is also an occupational hazard for most writers.
Cheers,
Alan
