I've Had it up to Here

I've Had it up to Here

A Poem by Armistead Lindsey
"

When you just can't take it anymore with certain people.

"
'I've got your money'
'Oh don't worry about it'
Arguments proceed,
About the polite obligation,
To pay back what's owed.
A recipe of guilt, appreciation, etc, etc,
Problem, solved.
Debt, cleared.

'I have to cancel'
'Oh, why so? '
'I can't even feed the kids'
'I'm on it' Planning it all,
4 days,3 kids,2 adults,
£11.34, aching shoulders, tired legs,
6 full bags of food,
1 happy mum,3 looked after kids,
1 tired me, skint me.

'I want that money you owe'
'I don't have it right now'
'I told you before though'
'I've had to bail people out, I'm skint now'
Argument ensues,
The aching shoulders,
Add to the weight of the debt,
The tired legs, sick of added weight.

About
I write for personal expression and share with people who, in many ways, I hope never to meet in person. This is not because people are horrible, but because my writing holds something too personal fo.. more..
