It had to be said

my justification the night my 2.5 year relationship ended

It had to be said,
No more lies, or stories,
No more running away.
It just had to be said.
Or it never would,
The explosion would have killed,
Crucified, murdered, burned,
The last aspects of ourselves.

It had to be said,
No more pretending,
No more faking everything,
It had to be said.
Or we'd never know.
If we'd have been free,
To fell, to love, to cherish,
Anything ever again.

It had to be said,
No more secrets,
No more twisting the truth,
It had to be said.
Or I would have been dragged.
Pulled away from me,
The remnants left behind,
contorted and burned.

It had to be said,
No more sleepless nights,
No more pointless arguments,
It had to be said.
Or I will be the guilty party.
I will be the one who lied,
I'd have been the one who hurt,
Who burned everything in your eyes.

It had to be said,
No more silence, or quiet,
No more deceit.
It. Had. To. Be. Said.
Or I'd be someone I can't be.
I'd want what I can't have,
I'd love what isn't mine,
But not what is.

It had to be said,
No more tears, They'll dry,
No more hating, hurting.
It had to be said.

And with anything we write, the final thoughts should be those of the writer. How it makes him feel is what matters. Often the writer sees something under the surface that was part of his life and it makes sense. To others the writing lacks the writers view due to the missing piece of the puzzle. WOW, where the "F" did than come from. Enjoy you own work first. :)

my poetry to me is like a diary, every deep thought, internal rant and rage I put into my poetry. I hope when you are in a more stable position within yourself you will be able to finish reading. But thank-you for reading what you did. My poetry is never premeditated. I carry a notebook everywhere I go and when something goes through my head that I need to express, I grab my pad and pen and just write.

If it doesn't flow I stop writing. I might return to the same piece or just write a new one. Some of my work is pages long, other pieces are two words.

not that i would award any merit too, structure in my poetry often goes a-miss unless i am using it purely for effect

It had to be said... I read it. Very dramatic... I'm not big on repetition. Seems to me that's better when spoken. There are some programs that allow you to put audio in your Author's Note. Soundcloud is one that I've seen. A writer named Rudi uses it often.
