Death Knocks

Death Knocks

A Poem by Armanis
"

A very haunting poem inspired by Poe's the Raven. This is instead more about a Demon on the other hand.

"

Death Knocks!

Woken up, who is it,

comes tapping at my door,

tapping, tap[ping, tapping at my

cellar door?

Nothing.

Hold on I, here abide,

Who’s knocking on my door,

knocking, knocking knocking at me

cellar door?

Nothing.

Beheld this grim looker,

Here, staring out window.

Staring, staring, staring murder.

Right at me,

At me!

Awaken, stares at him.

Who’s cracking my window!

Cracking. cracking, cracking my hymn!

Cracking it,

Broken!

Run and hide, Devil’s in!

Who’s breaking in my house!

Breaking, breaking, breaking me in!

My house is,

Fire!

Caught! snuffed out, and eating!

Who’s eateth by my soul!

Eateth, Eateth, Eateth, Eating!

The Devil,

Eating!
