Ode to Life

Ode to Life

A Poem by The ArK

I see that distant island
Lonely and grey
Midst the violent storm
And the monster waves

Oh why is it so hard dear
The rocky road of life
To the other end you walk
But never seem to reach

Oh dear I know it's dark
I know the light is hours away
But every moonless night, my love
Gives us a million stars

Does the warm breeze freeze you
Does the moonlight burn you
Do the waves drown the
Sound of your prayers?

Do your memories run past
Like a view through a window
Does the things you did
Come back and haunt you

Do not worry my love
Do not worry, cause
The dark cold winter days
Always give way to colours

These came as lyrics to a song I am composing in my head. Thought I would share this here!

My thoughts here when reading your words turned to depression and how that state can take the colour and joy out of life. When the light can be seen at the end of the dark tunnel, what a welcome joy that is. Emerging from darkness into the light. Good to read you Ark.

'warm breeze freeze you and the moonlight burn you' is this deliberately written?

I agree my friend.
"Do not worry my love
Do not worry, cause
The dark cold winter days
Always give way to colours"
The above lines. Amazing and thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

I often write direct
Does the moonlight burn you ?
Dp the waves drown your words ?
Does the past come back to haunt you ?

That distant Island will eventually be reached
The rocks may become smaller

Keep on aiming for the warn sunnt days filled with pleasing bird song
