From far far away...

From far far away...

A Poem by The ArK
"

A song from far far away

"
From far far away...
from the mountains where-
ice melt into rivers
from the peaks where-
the sun kiss the dew
from the tip of the rainbow where-
the treasure lay hidden
from the heights of the canopy which-
overlook the landscape,
came the song of a cuckoo.
A song so mellow, so subtle
like an infant's laugh.

It traveled the dense greenery,
crossed the violent seas,
hurdled over the mountains,
glided down the glaciers.

Passing the serene villages,
deserted suburbs and crowded cities,
it engulfed the earth like-
the thin fog of petrichor.

But then the bright screens were turned on,
earphones plugged in.
The song echoed in every corner,
but no one heard it!

Beautifully expressed, so many words describe the song flowing through that nobody heard ;-]

Enjoyed this, the subject Wordsworthian, the tempo flowing, excellent the way you introduce the theme at the end of the first verse. Well written, well done!

If I'm reading you right, this poem conveys a brilliant message! It seems like you are saying that there's a spiritual song that comes down from on high, but some don't notice it becuz they have their ear buds in. I lived most of my life being unable to hear this song. You are very creative & expressive, the way you describe the flow from high, all the details, blending the ideas of prayer, song, & river flowing (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Oh I loved the trip over the mountains rivers and seas
But turning on the bright green screens and earphones
You cut out the lovely sounds of the country or the sound of silence
