The door that closes itself

The door that closes itself

A Poem by The ArK
"

Do not regret on your decision after its done. It may block your eyes from seeing the other opportunities.

"

The Door That closes itself

The door was opened for a while.

The door with a silver outline,

a golden light emerging from inside.

From something that was too bright for my eyes.

I didn't know what the light was,

whether a trap or precious treasure.

I was in a confusion, dilemma.

So I didn't take a leap.

I took too much time on thinking

before it started to close!

I tried to hold it. But my hands

couldn't find the grip.

It closed at last, blocking the golden light

leaving the darkness in front.

I stared at the void for a long time,

so that I missed the other 5 doors

those were opened for me!!

An interesting analogy here - missing the open doors while fiddling with the closed one. In love particularly many do this.

Thank u Friend....... :)
As usual very symbolic, enjoyable and mesmerising piece there. I liked it, though there is a little obscurity in itwhich needs to be eliminated.

I needed to read this poem. The message is spot on for me right now. I deeply appreciate your insightful write. Thank you for sharing it with us! :) One small thing....fix the "knew" to "know" in first line second stanza. You were probably writing it in a hurry, spurred on by the inspiration of the house muses, and in a flurry of keyboarding, just mistook that little letter....happens to me all the time. Be blessed ARK.

Sometimes we miss great opportunities by not paying attention or paying too much attention to something else. There's a great message within this poem. Wonderful work. ^-^
