This I believe is Drake's dream for himself and his mother. How I wish he were my own child as well as my friend. What is there to say of this extraordinary young man that I haven't already said? He is the brightest of light in this world. We choose our family as much as we create them. I saw in him the undeniable desire to dream. Because he is so like me. A mind that wanders the wonders of life at will. I wish you well Drake. May the quest for your hearts desires not be too easy. But instead be fulfilling and rich.
My friend Drake.
This poem consists of a classic A.B.C.B. quatrain rhyme scheme. where the last word of the 2nd and 4th lines rhyme. Along with that I used 8 syllables in each 1st and 3rd line.Followed by 6 syllables in each 2nd and 4th line.

What a wonderful tribute, Tate .. that young man is obviously very special and a friend for life, God willing. I don't have children, YET, but i know from family and friends how special youngsters are, how adults can see the world renewed by merely walking or listening to them. You're a very lucky man to know Drake and he's fortunate to have you write such a wonderful poem about and for him.
Comes close to recreating the early experience of innocence in our lives after a lifetime of living and survival orientation. A true achievement. Nice write.
You yet again prove your craft with words.... no fancy words, but the way you arrange them and put in them the genuine love you have for your children, it evolves into something far, far greater..... fabulous work :)

It is so crazy to me the bond between parent and child. As I have told you before, I have yet to have any children, but the bond between my parents has grown so much more in the time as I have grown. As I became a man, my folks transcended the role of authority, and have become the reality of best friends. I mean it is so much more than the word friend can convey, because the authority that they used to possess has turned to a plethora of esteem and respect. Someday, I hope I can find this bond from the other side. A parent, what a role they play in our lives; I wonder at times if I am up to the part…
again a moving piece from you Tate..you have found yourself in your friend, what more can you ask from friendship?..perfect rhythm and smooth flow! the wonderful tribute you have offered to your friend here...he must be so proud to have you!
Each dream and desire in each stanza is so beautiful and full of hope... they're simple yet powerful dreams to have... I do hope your friend Drake feels these dreams fulfilled and that he never stops dreaming. After all, dreams do lead to great things, no matter how small...
