What is Truth

What is Truth

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

True love seeks not itself to please for it fears no loss of station Creating ease, with every breeze Heaven grows to Hell's frustration

"

Becky and I

False love seeks of itself to please

laughing at others pain and plight

Joys in the tease, the loss of ease

wreaking Hell of Heavens respite

True love seeks not itself to please

for itself it has not a care

Creating ease, with every breeze

Heaven grows within Hell's despair

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
It isn't so hard to understand the differences in love and usury.
One is selfish the other selfless.

True love alters things that we deem impossible. And eases our burden to remember to remember. We don't use honest Love, it uses us........Lovely, thank you...Barbz

You're welcome.
There is a selflessness to love that is hard to grasp when we are young, and becomes easier as time passes.

Nice one, Tate. That juxtaposition of Heaven and Hell is almost eighteenth century in it sentiments. And a great pic of you two.

a masterpiece of a write
I do not throw those words around lightly...tears came to my eyes ... and remain
I loved the way you set the mood, climaxed in the third stanza (which by the way is as good a four lines as I've read) and finally settled into heavenly love (what's better then that?).
Thanks for sharing

it's sad how people today come together for convenience rather than love. for one it's a chance at a better life for the other it's a tax write-off. it's rare to find people who love each other for being who they are, without having some kind of motive. this is superficial. very lovely poem.

One can only be used if they allow it. Sometimes the used gets as much out of it as the user. Adults allow what they allow. Give and take, take and give. It is the way people live.
