Your words so often direct thought to a different place. In your 'Time' you've searched for meanings, you still do .. and, that's what matters. This is a wonderful piece of writing, Tate.
Every moment of life is the ultimate gift. It's the treasure of being what we were intended to be, what we were meant to discover, cherish, love and learn from.
To destroy, to hurt, to abuse etc. is the destruction of one's own heart, spirit and even worse, the destruction of others.
There's always time to learn from mistakes, first- admit to them, second- stop thinking about them, thirdly- do something about them! It's never too late to act.
This made so much sense in ways that many people would never think of it's pieces of writing like this that make a good poet/writer....thanks for sharing...oh...and the song is awesome too...
"Younger days when I once believed
I'll sleep when I am dead
Now I feed the mind on learning
I keep those fires fed"
Thank you for a good journey in your words. Your words are true. Takes many years and many mistakes to learn to be wiser and kinder. I like the strong words and wisdom given and shared in the poem. A outstanding poem. Thank you.

Where has the Time gone, good things never seem last
a spent life, time to share to pass along, to see the
time as it slips pass the small part, the all part,
are part...this is ~ poet blue ~
That is the ticket. We don't even get close on the wisdom/age thing do we? The flow and meter were as good as your best. Great motif. Right up my alley.
Melancholy seems to be best word. This life, is held by such a thin thread. Personally, I never expected to make it to grandma-hood so the fact I'm here is lovely, shocking sometimes, but always I am thankful for a day to wake up in.
Maybe it is not a harsh thing that our thoughts of youth melt away, almost like another person's life. Embracing the future, helping to make it better, rather than focusing on our past - maybe that is why the memories dim over time - so we can look forward.
