The Writers Cafe Virus

The Writers Cafe Virus

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Why is it we all tolerate what in real life we would not take The art of being someone’s friend just to use them for our own sake

"

When did we ever say that we

regulate anonymity

Nor wish it on another soul

to bestow mediocrity

This virus if allowed to grow

will infect each and every one

With the feeling of helplessness

hiding the dark within the sun

We lose good people everyday

tired of wondering on their friends

They will keep fleeing from this site

until this childishness here ends

I can't speak for everyone

but for myself I will say this

I would never let a nightmare

send me off to the great abyss

Why is it we all tolerate

what in real life we would not take

The art of being someone’s friend

just to use them for your own sake

If you can't find it in yourself

to be truthful open and kind

You are wrong simply to assume

that we are all deaf, dumb and blind

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
We all want the same thing here.To meet and share with friends. I say we stop tolerating this nightmare that never ends. Some will say I should not be so upset .Let it roll off.But I have never lain down for abuse. I would rather be knocked down.
A man can always take comfort
in the things he must abide
To look in the mirror fallen
taking resp-it from that he tried

Lately the bad actors are coming out of the woodwork and i am half tempted to open a site just to list each and every one of their names for the sake of the good people here.
Today one of these vermin trashed the work of David Lewis Paget. I say enough is enough! Even if it means we have to publicly out them !

Most know who the main problem is on here. Desbest said it well. For a while this virus was abated, but it is like Herpes and it keeps coming back. I have no problem blocking and ignoring, but it gets uncomfortable not knowing who you can trust. I just purged approx 75 people from my list of "friends." I will not leave because of a few trouble makers. As a few of us have concurred that this is a social experiment. Konsor lets anything go. Like Animal Farm or Lord of the Flies!

I agree with you! We are here as writers to share and get feed back so we can grow as better writers! Plus we make life long friends as well and that's what this is all about! Excellent write!

A great poem. As for myself, I will not leave because of a few trouble makers. It is about being social, sharing, and making friends. Love the meaning behind this poem and the flow of it. It has great truth within it also. :)

the rating do not count we are here to get feedback from our fellow writers....and to meet new friends who share a common interest and that is writing. But like in life respect must be given to each other to not respect another is wrong. respect is earn not given....and when it come to what tate is saying I must agree. For if not tolerate with each other then why be here..and the nightmare of abuse must end there is no need for it....if a person disrepects me then I will cease to aknowledge their presents..but to the few friends i have here i will respect you for who you are.

There is strength in numbers
So we need not fear
As many here among us
Ride in our own high gear

The slim pickity few
Need get the clue
That we're standing strong
And ringing our gong!

a great poem! this site is so beneficial to many writers, like myself, who just want to know how people react to their work. i never considered my poetry any good until my friend mike convinced me to put a couple of pieces on here, and the crowds went wild! i would not have continued writing like i do now if it had not been for wonderful encouragement i have recieved on this site from writers like you, tate! and thats how it should be! we should not have to worry about being stalked. this site should remain a means of sharing and reviewing the works of the friends we make on this great writers community! a bold and honest piece, my friend.

It's hard to maintain multiple relationships fixed on using one another as a means to an end, on a website where the focus is rather just a means. It is very important we all maintain a balanced community. All artists are selfish, that's just a fact of life. Without desire for recognition, you have no art or expression. This website should build artists into favorable, kind and gracious writers, rather than attention w****s. Well written poem, Tate. Much love.

You expressed this very well, Tate. I have had a similar problem, but after I ignored it, it finally went away. On always every online venue there are parasites, we need to stand firm to exterminate the hateful buggers! It will work because this is a great site and we're gonna make sure it stays that way!
