The Long and Winding Road

The Long and Winding Road

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Emotion so bare and open fearing no more of the night Said come back again and again stay with me till morning light

"

Rebecca

Oh so fragrant the air was tasted

when first our souls did meet

Wafting on to the fading night

spoke of smells so ever sweet

Emotions so bare and open

fearing no more of the night

Say come back again and again

stay with me till morning light

Thirst overpowers my senses

with promises of love each day

Saying to drink of your fountain

swearing you'll show me the way

So short the time we have to be

oh what shall I do with mine

Give of my heart to another

or simply drink of the wine

I'll trust in you my happiness

life seldom gives but just one turn

while knowing so well the danger

I still wish to live, love and learn

Tate

What a gorgeous poem you have written here! Not only does the rhythm and rhyme flow effortlessly but the image of devotion you create is so vivid. Well done Tate!

truly a lovely word painting with hues of emotions like dew reflecting heart and soul~

how do you capture the impossible beauty of the suns reflection on morning dew, or the quality of autumns first light, the tangible and palpable "taste" of first romance, the hearts flutter, the cleaving chests emotional outburst, the joyous soaring giddy exhilaration when the impossible really happens...these impressions and more you have captured! The unrecordable song of love transmitted through ink to the world. Only purity of spirit can really do that... You write so impressively young Tatum! I rate this write A Plus!!! 110 out of 100
