The Long and Winding Road

The Long and Winding Road

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Emotion so bare and open fearing no more of the night Said come back again and again stay with me till morning light

"

Rebecca

Oh so fragrant the air was tasted

when first our souls did meet

Wafting on to the fading night

spoke of smells so ever sweet

Emotions so bare and open

fearing no more of the night

Say come back again and again

stay with me till morning light

Thirst overpowers my senses

with promises of love each day

Saying to drink of your fountain

swearing you'll show me the way

So short the time we have to be

oh what shall I do with mine

Give of my heart to another

or simply drink of the wine

I'll trust in you my happiness

life seldom gives but just one turn

while knowing so well the danger

I still wish to live, love and learn

Sometimes love is in the first sight! This was written for Rebecca. Seldom do the paths of dreams and reality meet .Rebecca is one of those.

Love is always a gamble. We roll the dice of our hearts in hopes we get a lucky seven. Beautiful piece and the music makes even more perfect.

As with all your pieces your choice of words is enchanting. It's elegant and simple. Great piece.

I love this , specially since I am obsessed with rhythm and rhyme , and if the poem has meaning too that is then ..well...Fantastic , like this one .

Simple, honest, confident. Marvelous.
and all that in a glance. Soundtrack included. Nice presentation, very sophisticated.
A refreshing experience, thanks.

I agree with the others, this makes me want to fall in love all over again with my hubby-doo. I feel like I'm in a Hallmark movie. Strong and captivating lines, from the first to the last. I look forward to reading more of your poetry.
