If size were what life were about

then we would not matter a bit

Not to the thoughts that man can dream

nor all the sins he could commit

Our mind is what gives us value

sensitive beyond it's design

Compassion and love will endure

in both your children and in mine

This little blue planet of life

the only home that we know of

Holds us in it's loving embrace

as here was born every love

No matter what life can collect

nor how long life grants you in time

Why would it matter to the earth

or to the heights of mountains you climb

Humanity won't remember 

the man who commanded his friends

Only he who gives hope and love

so that life on earth never ends

Can a thought or feeling be larger than a universe? Love is the only trait that is worth remembering because it is meant to be given away selflessly. The recipient is as happy to receive it as you were to give it!

If all your neutrons were connected together and engaged at the same time they would be able to create a thought sequence far greater than the size of any universe known to humankind. Willard yesterday we went out cut down the tree for this year .At 13.5 ft it is not the tallest .Not the biggest But it is the twentieth we have put up in as many years for my mother and a great feeling. May you know a happy Christmas this year.

first your poem ... i think the threads of hope and love as entities in and of themselves and the hope and love we blossom in our children (if we can) are as eternal as it gets here on earth ..and though the earth and all within it passes i believe hope and love remains ...
thoughts can far outstrip any universe in my opinion .. and when we are talking about love that transcends the physical plane ... it is a matter of faith ... and i believe that it is not only the universe but all of them and everything between and beyond ... so yes .. i think feelings can be pretty big ;)

Thank you Gene This was a piece i wrote for Christmas one year. I just love the idea that the imaginings of a man can far outstrip the realities of his life. may that be your truth as well.When you ask a small child that question."What do you want to be?"
