Love

Love

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

May the Lord Bless you and Keep you all the days of your life.

"

If size were what life were about
then we would not matter a bit
Not to the thoughts that man can dream
nor all the sins he could commit

Our mind is what gives us value
sensitive beyond it's design
Compassion and love will endure
in both your children and in mine

This little blue planet of life
the only home that we know of
Holds us in it's loving embrace
as here was born every love

No matter what life can collect
nor how long life grants you in time
Why would it matter to the earth
or to the heights of mountains you climb

Humanity won't remember
the man who commanded his friends
Only he who gives hope and love
so that life on earth never ends

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
Can a thought or feeling be larger than a universe? Love is the only trait that is worth remembering because it is meant to be given away selflessly. The recipient is as happy to receive it as you were to give it!

Hi Tate,

If all your neutrons were connected together and engaged at the same time they would be able to create a thought sequence far greater than the size of any universe known to humankind. Your deep thinking mind has stirred the pot and may well bring many others into action and this in itself may start a chain reaction.

Your poetry is a catalyst for other poets and I am always interested in what you have to say

I don't know if it can be larger but it can be as powerful.

I too can see the goodness in mankind, I see love all around and compassion is shown to us everyday. I don't know if that will be enough to save mankind from itself. To me it seems greed of money and commodities are valued more than natural things including love, understanding and compassion. I want to believe that our love will win over the greed of our hearts but can we really live a life without raping the earth?

I read your poem with new eyes and I see the beauty in this one, the way it flows and read is perfect without being perfect. :) I hope your message reaches everyone and I hope we find a new way to live with our earth. Yes our earth looks so tiny in these pictures LOL.

Your words lift and inspire us all, Tate. Thank you for letting us see the world and ourselves not in comparisons with the vastness of the universe but in the depth and intimacy of our friends and purpose. Beautifully voiced!

Undoubtedly.Thought causes us to study the swiftly unspiraling universe; the feeling there is something more out there.
Then there is the feeling of hope that a kind thought and a few words can give a sad soul, when you give someone hope, not only are you helping that person, but every person they will touch in their lives and on and on, infinite ripples in the the waters of time and space.
Awesome piece! Makes you think.

how come you always reach inside my universe and touch my heart with these writes of your Tate?! I get all fluttery on the waves of emotion you set off in my little pond ;~)

If the pinpoint of thought were inside, the realm of stars and moons, it could there forever hide, and would not be found too soon.
but the spirit who thunks the thoughts, isn't located there indeed, if he were he would surely rot, and all life would bore with speed.
so whenever you seek to find, deep hidden answers to life's riddle, i suggest you keep in mind, who is observing all this fiddle.

:-) cheers friend

This was a really thought-provoking write. I liked the emotional depth of your ideas, and thought that the concept as a whole was quite sophisticated, yet fundamentally a very natural and very simple human notion. I liked the way you worded this piece, particularly in the first stanza. This was full of truth and wisdom. :) Nice work,
