The Sweetest Gift

The Sweetest Gift

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Caught in the web of years that binds our lives so tight Giving all to each desires dreams for the hopes to loves delight

"
My loving wife "Rebecca"

We the frail likes of which

have never known so sweet

Do love each others heart alone

in secret places that we meet

____________________________

We touch each of the other

in the dusk pearl of the spring

Hold the light of love's embrace

as both our hearts take wing

____________________________

Caught in the web of years

that binds our lives so tight

Giving all to each desires dreams

for the hopes to love's delight

____________________________

Never was there a mood of mine

lost in the love song of embrace

That you gave my soul to sing

in wonders lit by our secret place

 ____________________________

Think I must have eyes to see

this heart so unknown till now

Opened the light of imprisoned love

that hung on the weighted bough

_____________________________

Where dark the days of my past

now lit by the bright sunshine

I give the world another look

to see its sweet gift as mine

When a man loves a woman- it is the most beautiful and sensual of all.

This is a gorgeous piece. To love one as much as you to your wife, so brilliant is the shine of the unconditional. Yet again, the flow and warm sweep of your prose do hold within as much beauty as the words themselves. Wonderful, simply wonderful. ^_^

What a wonderful and beautiful love poem, it shows such deep love for your wife. That is wonderful, just what a wife would really want to know, how loved she really is and would never get tired of hearing it. Actually, hearing it would make her love stronger and deeper for you.

Great progress throughout this poem... the individual stanzas work well together. There is a problem with the apostrophes... I ignored it at first (saying: well, he's just not using punctuation at all) but late in the poem you start using them (by the way, in one or two places the lack of apostrophes makes it hard to read the lines). So here's where apostrophes need attention: line 3 - other's, line 7 - love's, line 12 - love's, line 17 - eyes (omit apostrophe), line 24 - its (omit apostrophe). Line 11 is particularly confusing - I can't make out the meaning so I don't know whether an apostrophe is missing or not. Nice work (with the exception of the apostrophe issue). :-)
