The Sweetest Gift

The Sweetest Gift

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Caught in the web of years that binds our lives so tight Giving all to each desires dreams for the hopes to loves delight

"
My loving wife "Rebecca"

We the frail likes of which

have never known so sweet

Do love each others heart alone

in secret places that we meet

____________________________

We touch each of the other

in the dusk pearl of the spring

Hold the light of love's embrace

as both our hearts take wing

____________________________

Caught in the web of years

that binds our lives so tight

Giving all to each desires dreams

for the hopes to love's delight

____________________________

Never was there a mood of mine

lost in the love song of embrace

That you gave my soul to sing

in wonders lit by our secret place

 ____________________________

Think I must have eyes to see

this heart so unknown till now

Opened the light of imprisoned love

that hung on the weighted bough

_____________________________

Where dark the days of my past

now lit by the bright sunshine

I give the world another look

to see its sweet gift as mine

The photo is amazing. Words always tell a story. We must be thankful for the gifts in a life. A outstanding poem. Thank you.

its a bit abstract for me; the word secret was written twice so it filled in more mystery....maybe this is just something your wife can understand that you alone share in your world....it sounds sweet and lovely

beautiful Tatum. So cleanly and elegantly expressed. Most of us males can't achieve that high level of beauty without sounding dorky! LOL. You bring grace to the gender friend ;~)

When I recover from my self destructive 'broke-binge', I think I'm going to purchase your book; that is, if it can still be purchased.

What can I say about this work that I have not said about your others? You're definitely not a horrible poet. Quite the contrary. Your work is awesome. This piece is touching and makes me to desire seeking that which you are seeing, this world as yours. Reminds me of Nas' "It's Yours". Stupendous work (I had to use that word stupendous... I don't know why, but I mean it).
