Dreams

Dreams

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

A mind at peace with all below she is beauty such so ever bright Smile to win the hearts that glow a wonder to the sight

"

Lucy Hamilton Princess of Ireland.

Another life I dream of now

thoughts of others nay-ere to wed

Where love has waited on the bow

shown in beauty of all she said

I watched as she descended stairs

and dreamed the world was none but gay

With her my life had lost the cares

where we would dance the night away

The witted banter of close friends

then came the music swaying crowds

As dreams of love that never ends

on high the heaven’s streaming clouds

From marbled hall and wooded glade

of noble thoughts I was endowed

For love of her my heart had stayed

a life un-wavered and un-bowed

To he whom ever loved so true

we bless the winds of salvation

Red tresses flow in green eyed hue

oh this wonder of creation

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
Oh who can say what they would do if the winds had only blown them to distant shores. I wrote this of the dreams of another life not lived. I do not believe we are only able to love one person in life. I think there are thousands whom we might fall in love with if the time and place were right. It is the fates that leads us to our destiny. And this is just a thought on how life could be different if the winds had blown the opposite direction.

You, my dear, are a hopeless romantic; and I love it! It seems you like women as well as love them, this is a very desirable trait in the male of the species, and all too rare.
I believe you are correct, actually, I know you are correct, you can love more than one person. (Hopefully, not at the same time. LOL)

Here I am again.....after 4 years....see comment below!

Ok, haven't changed my view.....still an awesome poem.

Who does not dream of 'the Road not Taken or' If Only' and so on. But we are destined in this life to flow with wherever and to wherever the wind doth blow.

Sometimes its the right wind stream, sometimes its not. But we can't change our destiny and have to make the most of it with open hearts and minds.

Love and light,
Helena :)

Thank you dear Tate!
The subject of destiny has always intrigued me. I allude to it in my writing, but there's probably a story more specifically about it in my head somewhere. I'll have to give it some thought. But I digress. That does not change the fact that your poem is absolutely exquisite. Well done!

This is sweet and dreamy, Tate. Those in our lives that have come and gone remain part of who we become I think.

Oh my, Tate. You were right. This is reminiscent of my tale. This is so lovely. Having just written that bit of tragedy in the latest excerpt, I was in a state of mind to be touched by the tenderness of this piece. The music was nice touch too.
