Another life I dream of now

thoughts of others nay-ere to wed

Where love has waited on the bow

shown in beauty of all she said

 

I watched as she descended stairs

and dreamed the world was none but gay

With her my life had lost the cares

where we would dance the night away

 

The witted banter of close friends

then came the music swaying crowds

As dreams of love that never ends

on high the heaven’s streaming clouds

 

From marbled hall and wooded glade

of noble thoughts I was endowed

For love of her my heart had stayed

a life un-wavered and un-bowed

To he whom ever loved so true

we bless the winds of salvation

Red tresses flow in green eyed hue

oh this wonder of creation

Author's Note

Oh who can say what they would do if the winds had only blown them to distant shores. I wrote this of the dreams of another life not lived. I do not believe we are only able to love one person in life. I think there are thousands whom we might fall in love with if the time and place were right. It is the fates that leads us to our destiny. And this is just a thought on how life could be different if the winds had blown the opposite direction.

Hi Willard yeah I almost married this one.And if the world had slowed or changed direction i would have.But Like you i have but one love and she is both the rock I lean on and the cliffs I crash against. I have been lucky and I know it.I would never risk that for any other. I have never cheated on a woman and never will.I am lucky my wife lets me write of the thoughts in my head.I suppose she does because I make sure she is friends with any woman I know. I have her answer the phone and make sure she talks to any women i know. Lucy started me writing .Years later i remarried Becky and published the poems I had written for lucy.I sent the books as i had once promised to do to lucy .Two weeks later she called from Ireland crying over them.I let my wife talk to her for an hour.lol When she hung up she said I know why you loved that one what a beautiful voice. So true I said so true

thank you ron .I listened to this singer speak in her youtube video and said oh damn that is lucys voice I asked lucy how a girl from yorkshire could sound like her from northern ireland she laughed and said only a few of my friends notice my accent i lived in yorkshire 8 yrs
