My Brothers Keeper

My Brothers Keeper

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

I enter this poem in recognition of the fine spirit we all know here as Bluessadmood,In him I see our best character OUR FINEST HOUR! Thank you

"

ha ha ..its me too ..no lights as usual..thats home ...Iraq..i just arrived home..how optimistic ..ha ha..oh life how funny you are

Our friend Bluessadmood

Who is the happier of us

one that shines within all others sight

Is he the man who attends his ways

to then walk among us by this light

For oh the pains this life lays on us

then ask that we should ever prevail

To wish to live a long and fruitful time

account for ourselves and tell the tale

Spare us this we might be forgotten

tempted more than once we will endure

In us live the dreams of ancestors

of some noble conscience I am sure

Is it not our generous spirit

to that our nature’s highest dower

Ambling now it holds fast our heart

to rescue us in our finest hour

So help yourself to the least of us

help them pick up and carry the wares

Only then can we ask for ourselves

to find another who really cares

As every rock and tree bears witness

with him walks no company despair

He is the man we all wish to be

the moral being within his care

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
I write this tonight with a friend in mind.I dedicate it to the indomitable spirit we all know here as Bluessadmood .For in him I see our finest hour. Blue is a doctor in Iraq. The horrors he has seen would make us flinch. Yet he still has a upbeat attitude and should be commended .

Tate, this is one of the most beautiful pieces I have had the pleasure of reading in a long time. This is a heart touching piece, truth in reality of the human spirit. The flow, words chosen and the heartfelt style are wonderful.

Awesome my friend!

I agree. He is a fine man and so brave. I always enjoy reading his writings. His days so different from mine. Afraid to step in the wrong spot. But he didn't complain and always i saw him round this site. I hope he is still here.
Your poem is a beautiful tribute i know he is proud of this poem. You do write from the heart. Best of places.

As always, your work moves me to respond in poetic kind...
I lost my brother a few years ago due to Cancer, but I carry his memory with me everywhere...

we are our brothers keeper, your words are strong,I feel the power,
with wisdom they guide and whisper, shedding light on our finest hour,
a mentor be to a listening ear,a mothers pride and glistening tear,
into the void without fear,I'm not alone,my brother is here...LonelySoul

I'm so touched. I wish we all could do something, just a little, to change a little. I read it and took a deep breath, I knew its about all those I have known too. I pray for every one of ém. God bless you for dedicating your words to him.

Wonderful!! Bluessamood is a decent human being who has had more than a fair share of trauma and I for one am totally inspired by the way we seem to 'cruise' through life when there is such horror elsewhere.
Congratulations Tate for recognizing a living saint.
