My Brothers Keeper

My Brothers Keeper

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

I enter this poem in recognition of the fine spirit we all know here as Bluessadmood,In him I see our best character OUR FINEST HOUR! Thank you

"

ha ha ..its me too ..no lights as usual..thats home ...Iraq..i just arrived home..how optimistic ..ha ha..oh life how funny you are

Our friend Bluessadmood

Who is the happier of us

one that shines within all others sight

Is he the man who attends his ways

to then walk among us by this light

For oh the pains this life lays on us

then ask that we should ever prevail

To wish to live a long and fruitful time

account for ourselves and tell the tale

Spare us this we might be forgotten

tempted more than once we will endure

In us live the dreams of ancestors

of some noble conscience I am sure

Is it not our generous spirit

to that our nature’s highest dower

Ambling now it holds fast our heart

to rescue us in our finest hour

So help yourself to the least of us

help them pick up and carry the wares

Only then can we ask for ourselves

to find another who really cares

As every rock and tree bears witness

with him walks no company despair

He is the man we all wish to be

the moral being within his care

I write this tonight with a friend in mind.I dedicate it to the indomitable spirit we all know here as Bluessadmood .For in him I see our finest hour. Blue is a doctor in Iraq. The horrors he has seen would make us flinch. Yet he still has a upbeat attitude and should be commended .

What a lifting dedication that soars with his spirit! It is in the storms of life that true character is revealed, and here you express the depth and profound courage of Bluessadmood. He is always reaching to help others up.. and your write does the same.

Who wants a journey without a challenge or two and something to try and live up to even if its of our own making and strange in subject. I really liked this, point taken a life lesson gently conveyed. Good work.

Great write Tate. For when can we say that those toughest times of our lives were the very worst days, or after time, reflection, and rising above adversity they become the very finest of hours to remember as we have made it past the trials and tribulations of life? And who can define one man's intrinsic value from another's, unless one allows the other to cast that dispersion?

I salute you, sir. BZ

We all should be more. Every day we (well, I) get caught up in the minutia that is our lives. Got to finish this report, got to wash the clothes... We don't look up until sometimes it's too late...

Amen. No greater shoes do I want to walk in. They keep me from stumbling and falling where most do.

I thought this to be a deep and moving poem. I love the last two stanzas. It speaks true of helping our fellow man, to be this kind of person that puts others first. I really liked this.

Sometime we reach a pinnacle. We realize we didn't do too much. Today my is logical. I will pay the bills and spend time with my grandchildren and family. Your words run deep into my skin. Sad part of life. We learn too late what was precious. A powerful poem. Thank you.

Old soul material. It shows... beautifully.

Check out "Bearing Witness" by Collective Soul.

I think you'll appreciate it. Call it an early Halloween present.
