Foundations

Foundations

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

So each man will look back in time taking stock in the life he led To find if he is left wanting and for who and what he has bled

"

Tate

Heir to the dreams of this fathers heart,Tatertot.

Man can work sunrise to sunset

and thereby finding none of joy

Look far to the past for comfort

to the days when he was a boy

The pleasures come in kind smiles

confirming both field and station

Building along the path of life

friendships that speak to foundation

A native son of the Midwest

my life and soul are both free

What I wish to share with my child

is that sweet gift once given me

So each man will look back in time

taking stock of the life he led

To find if he is left wanting

and for who and what he has bled

Those times I see in my own child

of any things he missed there’s none

Creating dreams he’ll long cherish

watching him grow in Midwest sun

I often wish if only all children could be so blessed. To be shined on by providence. Born a native son to the Midwest.

Such a lovely poem, and I liked the last stanza the most.

Writings from the heart about someone as close as a child are hard to review, however, you have this one spot on. Excellent work, a joy to read and great advice as well.

My youngest son is not exactly from the midweast, but I feel the same about him, and there is nothing he goes without. All parents don't love their children and care for them as you and I do, unfortunately. May you and your little Tate always be happy and close.

Well said!I can so relate to what you are saying, being the way I was raised. Whether or not we realize it, I think we do pass on a bit of that to our children.

How important the foundations of childhood are.........I can honestly say there is nothing good I remember of my childhood, nothing.......and it creates a deep loneliness inside........you have blessed your son with memories that last a life time.

Oh yea!!! Not only did this touch me, it made me smile for the song made it so special. The pic and words and SONG all blended together that it flew on wings of its own making. Congrats my friend.

You are one of a kind..

I feel the same way, I wish that all children in the world can be blessed. Especially those that do not have anything but the clothes on their back and have no clue where their next meal will come from or where they will sleep.
