A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Coming home from where I had been retracing steps from here to there Has brought my life full circle now bringing back the lessons I share

"

            tate and paige
Tate and his cousin Paige in the 50 ft swing we built

The water's edge rose to meet me

while either side the river lie

Across the bridge and path I ran

past tall fields of both wheat and rye

To the meadow where my home sat

there childhood dreams were born and died

I followed the path that life led

my favored angel at my side

Here were crafted my hopes and dreams

from hence I’d come to test my skill

To find the place where I belong

perhaps upon some distant hill

Coming home from where I had been

retracing  steps from here to there

Has brought my life full circle now

teaching me the lessons I share

I had set out to find my purpose

only my own life did I see

But finding love in coming home

my treasured soul had found all three

Dear Tate,

As always a beautiful and romantic piece. However this one is perhaps even more romantic than usual. And I agree. How happy a home filled with loved ones. Money can't buy this. Nothing can replace this. This is what completes us and gives us our sense of purpose and meaning.

A nice one, Tate. Very much enjoyed.

Best regards,

Rick

This is a nice piece and reminds me how I'd like life to be. Going home should evoke all the good memories you mention here, it should be hopeful and glorious and going back should be a "homecoming". I like the idea that going away from home teaches you lessons and that you can bring back this newly found wisdom, that it's not necessary to go, experience the world and then stay there. A very thought provoking poem. Thank you.

I like the first stanza the most. I don't know why, I think I like the image of fields of wheat and rhye. I also like the idea of going on a walk and coming home again, finding perhaps more than expected or perhaps finding things in a different way than expected. I suppose I should remember that lesson. Thanks for reminding me.

absolutely nothing wrong with this poem. This is something which many youngsters today fail to value. A home with people who love and care for you is , according to me, heaven on earth

Nothing wrong with this at all. I really enjoyed it! It flowed well and has wonderfully uplifting feel, just like coming home. The last stanza intrigued me and I wonder if I have the right idea of the three things that you found?

This is so true. It reminds me of this song I heard on the radio. It was about this woman thinking about her child hood and trying to find herself by going back to the old house she used to live in. It also reminds me of when ever I get home sick and I think back to the places I used to live at in Michigan. Love it!
