Scream and Shout

Scream and Shout

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Sad to see the love of ones life walk down the Isle without you.

"

The heart never sleeps like the mind

forever twists and turns

When the mind has had enough

the heart of love still burns

The mind tells the heart to tether

it's hopes upon a string

Always thinking it knows better

to make life's chorus sing

These two dance through life together

two parts of just one soul

Each searching to love another

chasing a different goal

Many a man followed his mind

to turn love asunder

But he never knows beauty's bliss

 of love he will wonder

The mind is not the final judge

of what life is about

Best to not die of a whimper

but live to scream and shout

Sad as it is to have a broken heart, one can't but think how joyous the heart that gets back up screams to the fates" Is that the best you got?"

well done Tate ... top notch rhyme rhythm and story telling says i! its an old and well worn debate which comes first ... the feeling or the thought .. the chicken or the egg ;) personally i don't think we can "feel" without first the thoughts ... just try "feeling" something without thinking first ;) but i hear the message in this loud and clear ... its the surrender to passions that breaths all the colors and fiery turmoil into ones life ...all the heartache one has is well worth the experience of strong emotional love and desire ... a great addition to your poetry here at the Cafe' ... always a treat to see you have posted anew!

Like so many things in life, sometimes our perspective changes everything. Looking back across the years, the grass seemed greener, the sky bluer and the days longer. Romance was sweeter and our hearts were more free. But if freedom meant giving up the people I love, I'd prefer to remain a happy prisoner of their affections. I couldn't walk away from love, regardless of what sacrifices I have to make. But love wants the best for others and isn't so concerned about its self. I enjoyed this, Tate. It's always a pleasure to read your words.

So true my friend. All that we know, is that we have today and as your end lines say, scream like you mean it, because tomorrow that voice may or may not be here to be heard, as their ears may not be here to erm, hear it.
We are all told we only have this time of now guarenteed, but how much of that sinks in is down to us. We don't get to buy more at the end. Im pretty sure when I go it will be mid sentence. I hope its a punchline to keep people guessing, and not the awfulness of forever being remembered for my last words being some nonsense about nose hair :)

I guess I don’t want to go out with a whimper.

A Beautiful write Tate. " The mind is not the final judge of what this life is all about" Too true. I think to be loving, honest and tender, beats screaming even at any end whether life or a relationship. A whimper though could be interpreted as weakness and that would be sad.
Even good old Karma from the Cosmos has been known to take hand.
Mind you it doesn't hurt occasionally to go out and scream at the elements. That's sometimes more appropriate as you say.
Once again a beautiful write with words and sentiments that we all can share and relate to as I forward this to fb. Thankyou.

The touched heart can scream and shout without boundaries, while the cluttered mind, oft times , must be reminded to do so. Love......whatever it takes to get there, Get Threre!!
