Homeless Soul

Homeless Soul

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

The lonesome anguish beckons Love lost aches and torments so Ferrell demons of the black night Seem as to never let him go

"

A man knows not his purpose

until left along life's road alone

Letting go things of his former life

caring not what he may own

As then he finds solace to cry

when he sees that he is so real

Living through dark rains night

he then knows that he can feel

In that one divining moment

his purpose becomes so clear

Caring no more for adventure

he now knows the taste of fear

The lonesome anguish beckons

love lost aches and torments so

Feral demons of the black night

seem as to never let him go

The love that once beheld him

has him thinking he's insane

The mirror shows no mercy

to the face held in it's pane

The man you passed by the road

who looked as to never sleep

May be he that touched love's heart

with a soul both wide and deep

Tate

Having been divorced I can tell you it is not unusual for a man who loves with his heart to inherit the winds of perdition.

A very deep piece; very open and honest. There are many shades to the love dream and most people seem to focus on the beautiful beginnings or the bitter end, but not so much the aftermath. Seldom do we delve into what we carry with us when the love is over, reflecting on the person we once were as opposed to the person we are now. How often do we stop to think about how love, or being in love, has changed us? How often do we consider that after love is lost we have something gained, even if it is only an understanding of who we are? This work really gives one something to think about, and I feel, as with most good poems, it is open to different interpretations pending upon each person's personal experiences with love and love lost. Extremely well written.

that makes me think of a special someone who cannot feel good things... having lost many persons he enjoyed.. so seeing him like that hurts me a lot.. i can actually understand how it feels to lose what you thought was yours to keep forever... so here we are.. both trying to build everything we lost in the past.. and its not easy...
great piece... :)

I enjoyed this piece. Mainly because it talks about a man who has lost all things in his soul. He carries on, and at first has no reason too. Yet by being lost of all things, he starts to find reason. Great job.

This is just beautiful... A true gem
I love,

The lonesome anguish beckons
love lost aches and torments so
Feral demons of the black night
seem as to never let him go

and also at the end,

The man you passed by the road
who looked as to never sleep
May be he that touched love's heart
with a soul both wide and deep

Beautiful message, beautiful rhythm, free flowing rhyme, and good choice of words... just love it - thank you...

Some people when they fall find there is no where left to go but there is always up. Some people just don't know how to get the footing are so beaten down they just give up. It's sad when you have nothing and no one to lean on.

Nothing is more telling than when one reaches the bottom and there is nowhere left to fall. Either we rebuild or we become stagnant to life. We have to see what is truly important if we are to rejoin life itself. Some players either won't or can't. God watch over the lost.

wow. I really enjoyed reading this from beginning to end!
In the line: "In that one divining moment" , I think you meant to say "defining" ?

Overall, amazingly written. Especially loved the first stanza.
Good job
