But would we go back, Tate? It's nice to think that a second crack at youth would be nice, but not if we had to forgo the lessons we've learned on the journey. You have the gift of making the reader stop and consider your poems in the light of their own lives, and this makes them truly worthwhile.

For that reason even though they are mine they are everyone's as well . So that no matter that they are my emotions that created them they release others emotions as well.Just as a smell of cookies reminds us of grandmas house so do the melodies of these pieces release the memories of the reader concerning similar events.
When reaching in, some see out. Thanks! --- I especially liked the end,
"As I no longer ask the question
God traded me wisdom for truth
Teaching me the meaning of life
in exchange, he took my youth"
However, in my case, I gave my Youth.
A very beautiful testimony... God works in wondrous and mysterious ways...
that is why we have the power of choice. Lessons learned in our youth...
can develop into wisdom that becomes poetry. truly, Pat

Many sadly in their youth go astray and can become a pain in the backside to their parents and others. It has always been that way. Most grow out of it and regret it and move on having learned some tough lessons. Others never get back on track. Your lines I am sure will be relatable to many. Thank you Tate. It seems faith has played a strong part in your character building, some don't even get to experience that. There is much strength in your words.

When I was offered wisdom from those before me,and heard the words from the one who bore me, I was deaf, dumb and blinded. Then, as I walked the trail of life, and understood my brothers strife, those words that I rejected became my words reminded. Barbz

If we could do it again, with all the knowledge gained on our Life's journey… would we? And, if we did, would we change anything? If we changed anything, what would change in the journey? What would we lose of our original path? What in our now, would we be willing to loose for the chance for some other future? Who would we risk never knowing? A very thought provoking write.

I dont know what id do different Probably nothing Thank you
Beautiful, it reminds me of "Clouds" by Joni Mitchell: I've looked at life from both sides now. It's life's illusions I recall. I really don't know life at all.
