Ode to Her

Ode to Her

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

The fruits loins I would not know

"

Fruits of loins I might never know

had we never loved so sweet

When we did plant seeds of desire

little chancing we might meet

Holding my breath as I jumped

chancing all on a single toss

Leaped the very bonds of Earth

trying for the worlds I would cross

But God did see my grasp inflated

as he pulled me back to Earth

Saying of my tenacity

"you have overstepped your worth"

Filled with confidence I did go

not caring what he had said

For I would listen to no one

as I had no fear nor dread

Now holding to that grasp of faith

it's for you I shed my tears

Knowing you alone were worthy

of loving all of my years

Casanova thank you this one was confusing at best to write but it kept my mind whirring
I won't say that's "amazing", that's not enough, it's more than "amazing", it's "sublime". I believe two factors stand out after the first reading: 1) the musicality of your verses "had we never loved so sweet
When we did plant seeds ..." I just had to stop and re-read this part, it was captivating. 2) How personal and heart-felt this poem is ! I believe there's no doubts about it :)

Thank you it was a labor of love to create
Tate, what a wonderful poem! I read it out loud and the cadence is perfect. I especially liked the following lines:

But God did see my grasp inflated
as he pulled me back to Earth
Saying of my tenacity
"you have oversteped [sic] your worth"

It seems so fluid, and so full of emotion. Well done!

Love ... as an expression of many splendid things ... scales its own heights to find that ever bigger capacity to love. Nice one Huck.

Thanks my friend It is true it makes of us a better man
We all have our "one that got away" but who is anyone to say you've overstepped your worth so much as maybe there was something that you hadn't seen yet that wouldn't be good for you?

This poem adequately expresses the emotion we all feel from time to time. It's a good piece! c:

Thank you dear
Interesting collection with this one. I am not sure how it all relates in your spectrum. I have never been a big Beatle fan though...
However, I really love the poem and it can stand by itself without the other distractions.
Makes me think about the "the one" and how they relate to each other.
The ending stanza is very nice even alone.
Nicely written!

I am an open book most times but this time I am the mystery thank you
Masterfully crafted as always. Obsessions have their lessons too as do the ones that got away. Great work, Tate.

Wow, this is some obsession Tate - especially if you're still dreaming about it years later, aha. Nicely written, I enjoyed it.
