Sunshine

Sunshine

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Now my pains have no place to play And nothing left for them to do

"

Rebecca

You consoled my worn soul

 lifting me to my feet

A noble heart of kindness

dealt Purgatory defeat

I found the nightmares fading

as the new thoughts took their place

Washing out the poison

that so long had filled that space

That smile faded my sadness

with sweet thoughts I had of you

As pains found no place to play

and nothing for them to do

This is truly lovely! Words of a contented, peaceful heart.
Is there any greater gift?

It's always a great and happy thing when some one finds their significant other. This poem reminds me of the song "you are my sunshine."

Dear Tate,

A beautiful poem, and, as always, a beautiful sentiment. May we all find such contentment.

It's amazing my friend, how this great picture of you and your lovely wife, almost didn't need these timeless words to tell this wonderful story. Her hand on your heart, wanting to make sure the blood inside you still pumps steady and strong for her, the look on her face, of safety, and comfort, and almost a slight sadness, of this time away from her partner in life. You, with your arm back around her, where it always belonged, holding her close to you looking off to some blank corner of the room, wondering, and appreciating, just how lucky we can be sometimes, to have that second chance, to be with that one person, who has always been there, by your side, as you hers through all of life’s struggles and triumphs.

No, this poem was already written, a long time ago, when two young people came together, and new that no matter what, they were going to somehow make it work, for each other, and, for themselves.
Bless the couples that don’t give up, and throw away so much, for so little. Bless you Tate, and your wonderful wife. May you get to that point where you both look back and say together, that yes, it was worth every bit of it, we were the loves of our lives, and we both never let anything put that asunder.

'You have consoled my well worn soul' is elegant and direct, a fine piece of life, a fine thing to do and a fine thing to acknowledge. I also like 'Your smile washed away my sadness' for its beautiful simplicity. Bows to said washer away of sadnesses, a fine quality indeed.
