Strange it is to find out too late. That the ones we love, loved us as well. And in looking at us saw themselves. When I was young everyone over 30 was an idiot. The older I got. The smarter they seemed. And the more foolish I felt. The one thing my father said to me that I never forgot was this."Son my father never gave up on me I won't give up on you."
Thank you Dad

ohh my friend ,i really dont hate that winding road..i put something like that on my avatar..i meant it
you should not be sorry for the follies you fed..at the time it was the best thing fit your mind could work out
lucky for me i got wise at early age..still off course there were much to regret
i always thought old age was age of the wise and i tried to play it well
through weaknesses and strengths i took my steps so careful
i dont think i would unwind those roads for really its not that nice what i would see
i think i ve seen the best of it all..there are regrets but not of me
there are regrets and bitterness of others who just could not see
even if they lived longer than that very old oak tree
lovely write..
Inspiring and wise words you have penned here. This is life, we need to find our own way. It doesn't always mean we will choose the right path, but looking for it we tread lots of little tracks, some leading to goodness, some leading to things we regret and would rather forget. But all experiences are part of us. We shouldn't be too hard on ourselves.....we did what we could at the time. We can't turn back the clock, true, but how are we ever to grow and find 'that right path' if we live in regret. Celebrate that you have lived and are alive! Everyday is a new beginning and a chance to leave the past where it is, and look forward to living life as we were meant to live.
Now this is a really interesting and captivating piece.. from the image to the great flowing story you have woven that never fails to have some piece of wisdom embedded. The rhythm and rhyme were also superb.. I still am stuck on the photo though.. that was really awesome! (Being a tomboy .. I would have had so much fun with that!) Great job!
First of all I'm an old-time motorcycle buff, so I was drawn to the picture. Of course your words are true, but nearly all of us who understand that are older. (A sign of wisdom, perhaps?) Excellent and wise words, Tate. (Oh, I love that song, too)
this is kind of weird... I just got done writing about regrets myself. I didn't start adults were morons until I hit my late teens (16-18). Then I realized I don't know everything. You really shouldn't regret things because you can't change the past but you can learn from your mistakes for the present.
this poem was excellently written "as time creeps nearer to me we mortals never get the chance to live as long as the oak tree" this statement truely terrifies me for often I find my self living in fear of the end of my time but also that statement is what makes the poem great for it shows the truth of man what seems so long to us is so short not nearly enough time to live life some would say (personaly I just think people over 60 are idiots lol joking)
This is a great poem as well as a lot think about. I would love to read it to music without words (had to read it a couple of times because I was focusing on the music words then the poem) and it takes away from the glory of your work but another great poem indeed
It is always such a shock to find out just how smart your parents become after you pass the age of twenty one. I really enjoyed reading this and the music for it was perfect.
I see so many of my family strength in my life. Great responsibility come with raising our children. Poem was beautiful. I had to read a few times.
