*********************************************************************** Life & Times **************
For me, this work brought to mind and held shades of classicism, an influence, such as: F. Scott Fitzgerald, writing in a life as 'Victor Laszlo'
in the setting of the ambience of Cassablanca. As the picture here evokes such a character image, or possibley The African Queen the film with Humphrey Bogart... a portrayal, of such a character. These imagined and invoked, yet knowing. It is as original, as Tate Morgan and his life & times.
A life story, no not novelized or told of in other. Than Life's Tree.
As it is lived, through a Poets Eyes.
Immortalized, in scripted...
Excellance.
This piece reflects the depths of a painters image, on a canvas of words.
As it plays like a movie, through the readers mind. Enough said.
A Classical Portrayal, of A Man.
Striving...
For that perfect edge.

You have a natural way of rhyming and a clear but beautiful, in an almost haunting way yet personal, way of storytelling. Your finishes are also satisfying, laying on a perfect, ending note that encapsulates the poem's meaning (even if it's the title).
Very lovely~

well, I hate that I missed your video playback it is giving an error message.. This one is such a lovely, tender, reflective piece that speaks of recognizing those special people, times, and accomplishments in your life...How blessed you are to have those people and times to which you think back and they conjure up happiness and nostalgia.. Sometimes we do need to take the time to stop, think back on our life, our dreams, choices we have made, and roads left to take to get us there.. think back on relationships and all the special people in our lives and make sure they know how much they truly mean to us.. and think back on past mistakes and make sure we are doing what we need to-to make sure that it doesn't happen again... This is a lovely piece, Tate.. thank you for sharing.. you are correct.. I did enjoy.. as always you write about life so beautifully.. :)
reflections on memories , the things that shaped our lives can be so uplifting at times, people and places that still seem as fresh as though it were yesterday, and tomorrow is uncertain but we strive for it anyway in the hope of making more beautiful memories to treasure.. a lovely piece this is Tate...

I am star struck with these well constructed lines...
"...Mystic chords of my memory
look back on the road I traversed
Remembering moments I loved
as well as those I have cursed..."
The entire piece takes me to a feeling I can barely describe; I have a friend who journeyed with me so very many miles, and our friendship has spanned some 43 years. Inexplicable are the connecting cords that forever unite two people across the miles and throughout time. The description of the ties that bind, in your expertly crafted work, brings to mind the friendship that's value cannot be measured or contained. My friend and I lost contact for several years, and our miraculous reunion restored my faith and helped me realize that I am forever connected with her. I am certain the connection between you and Tony will never be broken despite the miles and time which has passed.
The self portrait is incredible... A poet and an Artist...Incredible Tate and the music is perfectly suited to augment this wonderful piece.
