Over the Rainbow

Over the Rainbow

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

There memories go to bloom again in the warm spring rains of the sky He’ll see her beauty stand before him not the passage of time go by

"

No more words dreamed by the poet

the skies are not kissed by the dew

Stories of the life they once shared

just memories of loves sweet hue

Tender words no longer touch him

gentleness he no longer lives

Alone he hides within himself

no beauty in life left to give

Music no longer rules his soul

a quiet mind surrounds this heart

Darkness descends upon the world

since he and she were torn apart

For he so loved her so complete

shared with her inner thought

To heaven go his soul alone

a lifetime with love he fought

There memories go to bloom again

in the warm spring rains of the sky

He’ll see her beauty stand before him

not the passage of time gone by

Then these two will greet each other

like some old friends and lovers do

To find the love they lost in life

where wonders of passions renew

Beautiful and so perfect. I felt this great loss when my wife died. You have captured that like no other writing I have ever seen. And then you do a wonderful transition to hope. The story is not over there is more to come. I almost feel God had you write this for me. It is a blessing to me. With tears in my eyes I say thank you.

He loved her, he lost her, they reunite in some future time/place. Quite a romantic theme, stated with such certainty. Well, it may all be true - we can only hope. This is a nice, cohesive poem - nothing in it that doesn't relate to the theme or nothing to distract the reader from the central message - for that I say bravo. I am bothered by the variation in verb tense throughout - not so much that it starts in the present tense and ends with the future tense, but the rapid shift, particularly in stanza one (it seems to me the memories 'are' not the memories 'were') - this contrasts with the shift in stanza three which is perfectly natural and effective. Also in stanza one check to see whether 'loves' should be 'love's'. I don't really like the 'so' and 'so' in stanza four (line one) - nothing really wrong with it but they are so close together as to call attention to themselves. Later in stanza four you should check to see whether it should be 'goes' rather than 'go' to correspond with the singular noun (soul). Other than these minor things, which bother the purist in me, I'd say this poem maintains the high quality of your writing and is a worthy addition to your portfolio. Good work.

This piece touches well upon that somber emotion of loss, carrying along with it the striking contrast as the words flow. Though he may be distraught in life, there remains the hope of finding that love once more in due time. For some, such hope can ease that burden ever so slightly; and for some, that is all they need. A beautifully crafted work with touching inspiration. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Breath taking! This was filled with such sadness and longing for-ness. The music and the picture was the perfect touch. Yet again, you never disappoint. :)

Longing for, dreaming of, looking back at love that was, and ahead to that which shall be when reunited again at that special time and place over the rainbow!

Absolutely so touching that it brings tears to my eyes, but joy to my heart as it shows promise for what may be!.......

And we'll still continue on
Following the midnight sun
Together with joy we shall be
Bringing alive again our memories!

The song is such a nice touch! Truly so beautiful!
