Darkness

Darkness

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

No one controls the hearts desire. Nor whether it be happy or sad.

"

Of all the faces man puts forth

to hide the dark inner sorrows

Love is the one that matters most

as from the deep soul it borrows

We know the Fate's in their fury

don't fear rage from their painful screams

For whenever the truth be told

they harm us only in our dreams

We pine for that one's acceptance

a glint in the young woman’s eye

The sweet smell of her hair caress

as she wistfully saunters by

Man will always question his fate

search for that brighter inner light

To illuminate his darkness

and scare away the haunting night

I miss this guy
I love this poem because in my opinion this is lifes biggest struggle getting away from the dark and dwelling in the light! I love this and thank you for sharing

I am speechless. Some of the best poetry I have read. Well written, mysterious and has a almost bittersweet feel. Beautiful.

Love is a mystery. Men never understand women and women never understand men but we shield each other from the dark if we are lucky enough to find true love and cherish it when we do. And all the memories we share keep us going in the storms that life brings.

Yes Love is the greatest mystery known to man or is life itself perhaps an even greater mystery? were our ancestors created from lust and not love? i prefer to think that the great romantics of a bygone era were chiefly responsible for emotional attachment and bonding to our opposite sex.
Mother nature creates and divides us all in her own way and everything lives and dies so where is the fairness in love?

Bautifuly done Tate! I found this in line with all the old time poets. Your knack at creating just the right piece is amazing! Your pen is magical my friend, no question on that. You bring forth from a place many of us wish to go, yet few ever do.. This was one of many, that I found so touching and meaningful that it will forever stay in memory..
