Not Forgotten

Not Forgotten

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

I remember the dark door where we hid from all the rain A dry respite from the storm safe in arms I'd felt no pain

"

I thought I had forgotten

what with spring came back to me

Words un-uttered thoughts we stirred

of the way things use to be

I remember the dark door

where we hid from all the rain

A dry respite from the storm

safe in arms I'd felt no pain

I went back to the small doorway

where happily our loves had played

My heart ached for what could have been

if behind that door we had stayed

With wild, spring, rain and thunder

something wondrous comes this way

Your eyes had said more that night

than your lips could ever say

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
Sometimes the thoughts of the mind take me back to times that seem like yesterday. However the day has set on those times and the new day risen on better ones.
This is a poem set to a 7 syllable count in the meter. It has a simple A.B.C.B. rhyme scheme. The 2nd line of each quatrain rhymes with the 4th.

How nicely the poet TATE begins his reminiscences asking whether he could remember those ones that occured when he was quite young while his spring could serve his feelings and desire.

I remember the dark door
where we hid from all the rain
A dry respite from the storm
safe in arms I'd felt no pain

Eventually he was caught in the arms of raining water and stormy situation that he had to remain in arms may be of some soft ones but was worthy for him to remember in future days.

I went back to the small doorway
where happily our loves had played
My heart ached for what could have been
if behind that door we had stayed

It is really a fine stanza in which the poet express his heart aching for for the person whom he liked to stay with.

With wild, spring, rain, and thunder
something wondrous comes this way
Your eyes had said more that night
than your lips could ever say

The concluding lines say in volume. It is really a very nice love episode that could be a story for future poets.
In this piece of poetic creation I try to deduce meaning from. The matter may different in this poem. All these views are mine expressed here and accordinng to my knowledge. Hope viewers will like this.
Thanks...
Love you TATE

thank you danilo what better praise could one ask for than to convert another?
Bittersweet in memory; the things that used to be. But love is enduring no matter what the skeptics say. It's a pleasure to read something romantic this morning. I enjoyed.

The verse above is my favorite. I particularly like your author's note explaining the rhyme and rhythm scheme. It would be nice to see more of that on Writer's Cafe. Kudos!
