Man, this is gorgeous! So full of loveliness! A resounding awwwh could be heard as the poem ended. What wonderful evoking of emotion-what a way to convey such an over-conveyed feeling!
And as usual your perfect flow and rhyme only helped your message through the minds (and hearts!) of your readers. I don't doubt that I'll return to read this poem again just to feel the beauty of it...

A beautiful thing to say to your daughter...a way to remind of her of the "roots" she will always grow from.

Nice poem about your daughter.
It makes me remember what my parents always sing when I was young. "We are the tree. Parents are the trunk and the roots. Children are the branches, the flowers and the fruits."
How loving father you are.
Good job! :)

And this is what matters is it not? The face in the photographs above and the many others you have shared? Everything else is just smoke and mirrors. Hold to that which you know is true. You have a beautiful family, Tate. :)
Lovely piece to write a young girl setting out on her own for the first time. :)

How did I miss this, Tate? I just happened to see it listed as a 'related' near someone else's poem, and here we are. Short and succinct as the best poems are, there is an ocean of feeling here, and so well expressed. Your best poetry always seems to emanate from the heart, Tate, it's where you excel.
